Who Is Josh Gillespie?
Josh Gillespie graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Political Science and a minor in Law and Society. He served on the staff of Congressman Dan Burton in Indianapolis in a research and public liaison capacity and in Washington, D.C. as the Deputy Chief Clerk for the Congressional Committee on Government Reform and Oversight.
After returning to Indianapolis, Josh was named the Chief Development Officer for the Greater Indianapolis Republican Finance Committee.
Later, as Political and Public Relations Director for an unconventional Congressional campaign, he developed strategies as well as policy messages.
Josh also worked for Stakeholder Incorporated, where he continued his liaison with state and federal legislators
In March of 2007, Josh founded Gillespie Total Strategies, LLC, a new media, public policy and political consulting firm. That same year, he also co-founded HoosierAccess.com, a leading conservative blog in Indiana. Since then, he has become a noted public speaker on the use of new and social media for groups, organizations and campaigns.
He returned to work for Congressman Burton in 2009 as his Director of New Media while continuing to serve part time as President of Gillespie Total Strategies, LLC. In June of 2011, Josh became his Communications Director.
Josh is an Indiana Leadership Forum alum, Class of 2008 and a graduate of the Hoosier Congressional Policy Leadership Series, Class of 2010, and he helped found the Hoosier Heartland Political Action Committee. He also served on the Board of the Indiana Federation of Young Republicans first as as 5th District Chairman and then, after redistricting, as 6th District Co-Chair as well as Vice Chairman of the Hancock County Young Republicans.
Josh is married to Catherine and has three children. He and his wife are members of Crossroads Community Church (PCA).
